1st Baseball Game

Posted in Family

Today was Munchkin’s first baseball game. She did well even though she really wasn’t feeling well at all. Coach knew that she wasn’t feeling well, so he did his best to make sure that she was ok throughout the game. She sat out the first inning which was good. She played the next 2 innings. (There were only 3 innings.) She played outfield which she enjoyed – other than it being too hot, she said. She was up to bat twice and got base hits both times. The first time she was so surprised that she hit it that she…

Munchkin’s Birthday

Our baby is 9!! She’s growing up so fast. Yesterday, we started off the day with delicious cinnamon sugar donuts. Then, she opened her present from her Aunt, Uncle, and cousins. She received a Robopet (a puppy). We needed to head to the post office and library prior to making our next birthday stop, so she decided that she’d take her instruction manual with her to read. Our next birthday adventure was the arcade at Chuck E Cheese. We played skeeball and a couple of other games. Munchkin got the high score on skeeball, so tickets came pouring out of…

Munchkin’s Creative Side

What do you do when you’re still too sick to play, but you’re feeling well enough not to want to just sit around? Munchkin likes to do crafts and draw. Today, she decided to draw some animal pictures. She went to the Jan Brett website to watch the tutorial on drawing animals, but she didn’t like doing the step-by-step process. Instead, she looked at the finished product and drew her version from there. Here is the finished result of the dolphins. Here is the finished horse: She also drew a colt and an elephant, but I’m unable to get them…

Ups and Downs

Well, I think I spoke a little too soon about Munchkin being on the road to recovery. While she is doing better, she is still pretty sick. I’m sure the crazy weather isn’t helping anything at all. We go from the 80s to the 50s, sunny to rainy… You get the idea. We’re both dealing with sinus headaches and allergy issues as a nice layer of yellow pollen is covering everything. It’s rather frustrating as she’ll be feeling ok for a while and then she’ll crash. We’re trying some nice hot herbal tea today to see if that will help…

A Glimmer of Light

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Munchkin has begun the road to recovery. I was relieved to finally see a good bit of improvement today. She actually ate 2 meals, and she sat up and colored for a while. I was working my way through a couple of boxes of misc stuff from the attic, and I came across a couple of coloring books. She eagerly took one of them and began to color. Now, this may not seem like much, but considering how sick she has been it seemed wonderful to me. Munchkin missed baseball practice this evening; they were suppose to get their jerseys…
