Rain and Rising Water

Posted in Thoughts

We have rain steadily falling and the water behind our house is slowly rising. We’ve never seen it so high, so we’ve been watching it. Munchkin thought Daddy might like to see some pictures. This is the view we now have from the backyard. Usually, the water is much lower. In fact, during low tide, it is often just mud. On a normal day, when we look down like this, there is a pathway leading down to the water. In addition, there is some very tall grass at the water’s edge. There is usually a nice island in this view.…

Follow Up on BFS #103

Posted in Thoughts

Due to a few comments and emails that I received about yesterday’s BFS post, I do feel the need to clarify a few things. 1) Although I have clutter, I am very organized. Clutter doesn’t necessarily mean that one is not organized. I’m constantly changing how things are organized so they work efficiently for us. 2) I am also constantly going through things and purging stuff. Assignment: How do you keep energized so you can get it all done? bouncy music? treat it like a workout? Do you use a schedule?, a housekeeping binder system? luck of the draw system?.. or is this an area where you need encouragement? Apparently, this is becoming the theme of my week. House work, house cleaning, organizing, de-cluttering. This is truly an area that I struggle with as I tend to…

Fall Cleaning

Posted in Thoughts

Today, I opened up the windows and began our fall cleaning. I had gotten behind on cleaning again do to a few days of not feeling well and being ultra busy. It’s amazing how quickly things can get crazy when you don’t do your normal tasks. It’s nice to have things at least semi-organized now. Unfortunately, when I start to clean and organize, I tend to make a bigger mess. I realized that we just had too many things that weren’t being used, so I posted several (okay 14 and counting) boxes of stuff on Freecycle. I still have many…

Cry Out to Jesus

Cry Out to JesusThird Day To everyone who’s lost someone they love Long before it was their time You feel like the days you had were not enough when you said goodbye And to all of the people with burdens and pains Keeping you back from your life You believe that there’s nothing and there is no one Who can make it right There is hope for the helpless Rest for the weary And love for the broken heart There is grace and forgiveness Mercy and healing He’ll meet you wherever you are Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to…
