Due to a few comments and emails that I received about yesterday’s BFS post, I do feel the need to clarify a few things.

1) Although I have clutter, I am very organized. Clutter doesn’t necessarily mean that one is not organized. I’m constantly changing how things are organized so they work efficiently for us.

2) I am also constantly going through things and purging stuff. I am naturally a pack rat, but that just doesn’t gel with the military lifestyle. I learned very quickly as a military spouse to get rid of things. We’re just not as streamlined as we would like yet. 😉

3) Unfortunately, we don’t always have the chance to go through everything prior to a move, so we end up bringing along stuff that we don’t need. We also never know what size house we’ll be in next. In this case, we’ve moved to a much smaller house, so we’re trying to make things work. I go through stuff as I can. This last move was particularly crazy, so we have a lot of stuff that still needs going though.

4) When you’re taking care of the home without a spouse present, some things take priority over a clutter free house. I am striving for that goal, but sometimes it takes a while to get to that point.

Brethern, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13,14

Three of my daughters have spouses in the military. Clutter, organized or not, should be the least of your concerns. I think it is amazing how you manage.

You know, this is something that I just decided I need to tackle last night! Just knowing that I have clutter lurking behind closed cabinets or doors makes me feel unsettled. Thanks for the posts on this topic!
