VBS & The Praying Mantis

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

On Friday, Munchkin had her VBS closing ceremony. Daddy was finally able to make it. Somehow, he has always been gone for VBS in the past, so it was a treat for him to be there for the performance. All the kids did a great job with the singing. Munchkin was bummed to see it all end, but she was also glad that she didn’t have to get up so early every morning. lol! They brought home all of their crafts on Friday, so it was fun seeing their different camp related projects. Today, we found this praying mantis on…

Monsoon Season

Apparently, we’re in monsoon season here. We didn’t really know what all that entailed as this was a new one for us. We’re use to hurricane season and tornadoes, but monsoons are a new one. Today, we are getting a taste of some of what takes place during monsoon season. Our first major sandstorm was followed by a downpour which was followed by another sandstorm. I was able to purchase these cushions and pillows very, very inexpensively. I decided that I didn’t want to spend a lot…

Sense & Sensibility Review

Posted in Homemaking, and Reviews

I had lost motivation to tackle unpacking and setting up my sewing area. There were a few things that I wanted to sew, but there wasn’t really anything that gave me that extra nudge to get it done. Thankfully, an opportunity came through to review an Edwardian Child’s Apron eClass by Sense & Sensibility. Last year, we had picked up some fabric on clearance, but I wasn’t sure what we would use it for at the time. Munchkin really liked it, so we went ahead and purchased the two coordinating fabrics. I checked the pattern and found that we had…
