Today, after months of being on a roller coaster ride, we closed on our house. We are rejoicing and giving praise to the Lord for allowing us to no longer be homeowners. Yes, that does sound quite odd to say/write, but with this crazy market and the military move, we are grateful that we were able to sell our house fairly quickly. Now that this burden has been lifted, we are able to start really enjoying our new location. I can focus on turning this house into a home. The Mean Mom

I believe that I’m quickly earning the title of the “mean mom” in our new neighborhood. Apparently the following items brand you as a mean mom: Your child is required to do her school work and chores before she plays. Your child is not allowed to go into people’s houses when we don’t know them. Your child needs to stay within earshot/eyesight of us (for the most part) instead of going all over the housing area. Our 4th of July Weekend

Our 4th of July weekend was filled with lots of good food and relaxing. Daddy had off on Friday, so we started the day off with a yummy gluten free coffee cake that I made. On Saturday, I made blueberry muffins with a berry medley on the side for breakfast. For lunch, Daddy grilled up some steaks, and I made a berry burst cake. May we all remember how difficult it was for our Founding Fathers to set up the basis for our free nation. So much time, thought, and energy went into the writing of these documents and the structure of our nation. Would we be willing to become traitors? To put our lives on the line for our beliefs? For freedom? On the 4th of July, we celebrate the freedom of our country. As we celebrate, let us not forget that freedom comes with a price.
