Making Something Old New

Posted in Homemaking

Munchkin and I wanted seat cushions for our outdoor furniture, but we can’t afford to just go out and buy some new ones. I had found outdoor fabric for a really, really good price on clearance shortly after we arrived here. All I needed was some cushions. At first, I looked at the foam at the fabric store, but it was too expensive. I decided to head down to the thrift store to see what they had available.

I was able to purchase these cushions and pillows very, very inexpensively.

I decided that I didn’t want to spend a lot of time on these, so I just made easy slipcovers for the cushions and pillows. Here is how they turned out.

Ah, much more comfy and inviting. Now, if it will just cool down a little, we may be able to enjoy the outdoor space a bit more. Our parsley and cilantro are slowly growing, but the oregano apparently doesn’t like the heat. (I found these planter sets on clearance at the fabric store.)
