A Doggy Christmas Part 2 #ILoveMyk9 #CBias

Posted in Family

You may remember from A Doggy Christmas Part 1 that we purchase goodies to put together a new pet owner kit.  The original plan was for that kit to be used for a newly adopted dog from the humane society, but as it seems often happens around here, the plan changed.  Munchkin decided that she’d really like the kit to go to the dogs at the stable where she volunteers.  The dogs are healthy and loved, but Munchkin wants to spoil them with some extras that they don’t have like treats, chewies, and toys. We put together a kit that…

Playing in the Rain

Posted in Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

Today, we received a very nice rain storm which means Munchkin needed to head outside to play. It also meant that she needed to head over next door to see if her friend could play.  That play lead to lots of laughter, fun, and some rather wet, cold kiddos. Gluten Free Latkes Recipe

Posted in Gluten Free, Homemaking, and Photography

We thought it would be fun to try latkes which are a traditional Hanukkah food. Seeing how I like to tweak recipes slightly and I had sweet potatoes on hand, I decided to do a mixture of regular fingerling potatoes and sweet potatoes. O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory…

Gluten Free Chocolate Cake Cookies

Posted in Gluten Free, and Homemaking

These easy gluten free chocolate cake cookies are one of the first cookies that I baked by myself as a kid.  You can use a homemade cake mix or a boxed mix. Ingredients: 1 gluten free chocolate cake mix 1/3 C. coconut oil 4 Tbsp. water 1 large egg 1 cup add-ins (chocolate chips, nuts, m&ms…) Directions: Preheat oven at 350 degrees. By hand, mix together cake mix, oil, water, and eggs. Stir in mix-ins. Drop tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheet. Cook 10-12 minutes until edges are light brown. Allow to cool for a few minutes on…
