Today was D’s first day back to work after his surgery. Thanks to a long Thanksgiving weekend, it was only a half day of work. He was pretty wiped and hurting by the time he came home, but overall things went pretty well. We keep thinking back to the previous back surgery and find ourselves so grateful that it all went better this time around. Last time he went back to work, I was receiving text messages from a concerned Marine saying that he really needed to go back to the doctor prior to coming back to work. This time, he wasn’t in extreme pain. Thank you Lord.
Once Daddy left the house, it was time for Munchkin and I to get to work. I was behind on laundry and cleaning. Munchkin was behind on her chores. We treated ourselves to a half-price drink at Sonic after working for a few hours. **grin**
Later in the day, we decided that it was time to get the Christmas tree up. Usually, we put the tree up on Thanksgiving day, but we didn’t do that this year. We were busy working on other projects. I put together the pre-lit tree, and Munchkin started the decorating. D was pleasantly surprised to see the tree up when he arrived home. The room seems much warmer with the tree all lit up. We have lots of decorating still to do, but the tree is up.
We’re now relaxing and eating some fresh baked gluten free snickerdoodles. It’s a nice ending to a productive day.
sounds like a good day for you all 🙂
