It’s funny how the same Christmas tree that has looked rather large in most of our homes looks a bit smaller at the cabin next to the large fireplace. I am so grateful that this year we have a floor instead of plywood, and that we have a fully insulated cabin. Today was D’s first day back to work after his surgery.  Thanks to a long Thanksgiving weekend, it was only a half day of work.  He was pretty wiped and hurting by the time he came home, but overall things went pretty well.  We keep thinking back to the previous back surgery and find ourselves so grateful that it all went better this time around.  Last time he went back to work, I was receiving text messages from a concerned Marine saying that he really needed to go back to the doctor prior to coming back to work.  This time,…

I use to be the one to decorate the tree. I had fun decorating it “just so”. Once Munchkin was old enough, she joined in on the decorating. Now, she has taken over the responsibility of decorating the tree. It’s not something that I had planned as I do enjoy it. It’s something that she enjoys so much that I allow her to have free reign on decorating the tree.
