Latin and Snacking

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

Project 365 – #292 What?  Those two things don’t go hand-in-hand in your mind?  Around here, watching Latin lessons seems to go hand-in-hand with snacking, and this picture really does capture the moment even if it is a bit fuzzy.  Munchkin was happy to be able to have chips and dip while sitting in bed watching her Latin lesson.  Hey, what can I say?  I’m a bit of a softy as she was tired from working hard at the stables this morning, so I allowed her to relax in bed while she did her school work and enjoyed a snack.…

Gluten Free Sante Nuts

Posted in Gluten Free, and Reviews

Finding healthy snacking options other than fruits and veggies is not always easy.  A handful of nuts is a nice alternative when you’re craving something crunchy, but sometimes it’s nice when you can kick up the flavor a notch or two. Recently, we received a sampler pack of nuts from Sante.  I really like that Sante started in a stay-at-home mom’s kitchen and took off from there.  Even with the success, Sante has continued to maintain the same process and used the high quality ingredients as when the nuts were made in the home kitchen.  And yes, the nuts are…

Anytime Snacking with Crunchmaster Crackers

Posted in Gluten Free, Homemaking, and Reviews

As I stated in a previous post, we really enjoy Crunchmaster crackers at our house, so when I was asked if we’d like to try out some of their new cracker line, I quickly said yes.  We received a package of the White Cheddar Multi-Grain Crakcers as well as a package of 7 Ancient Grains Hint of Sea Salt Crackers.  The timing was perfect because I wanted something quick and easy for game day snacking.  I quickly sliced up some cheese and made some chicken salad to serve with the crackers. We decided to start out by trying the 7…

Time seems to be flying by as we approach D’s second surgery. Today, we headed over to the hospital to get all of the pre-op paperwork, labs, and x-rays done.  Most of D’s information was already in the system from the last surgery, so that part went a bit faster.  Thankfully, I brought my Kindle as everything else took some time.  Friday, D will need to get more blood drawn, and then Monday morning, we’ll be heading back over for the surgery.  We’ve been told that the surgery will take basically the same amount of time as the last one…

Homeschooling: To Budget or Not To Budget?

Posted in Homeschooling, and Photography

To budget or not to budget… that is the question for our homeschool this Monday morning. We’re in a unique situation for a military and homeschooling family.  We have an only child.  It’s definitely not the norm for either of these circles, but it is the norm for us.  We embraced the uniqueness of our family situation given to us by the Lord.  Being that we do have an only, we are able to spend more on schooling if necessary.  That being  said, I like to keep costs down as much as possible because we want to be good stewards…
