New Family Pictures

Posted in Family, and Photography

I’m rather funny about getting new family pictures before any major event such as a deployment or surgery.  It’s just how I am, and thankfully, my family doesn’t mind.  lol!  Daddy always enjoys having new pictures of his girls.  **grin** Since D’s surgery is Monday afternoon, we decided that today would be a good day to head out to a local hiking area not too far from here to take pictures.  Because D has been in so much pain, we needed a spot where we could drive right up to it, and he wouldn’t have to walk/hike very far.  We…

Teach Me How

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

As parents, we’ve been given a wonderful gift that comes with great responsibility. Will we embrace it or run away from it?  We lead by example.  What kind of example are we setting?  Do our actions match our words? Lord, grant me the ability to recognize my weaknesses and allow you to work through me to be the type of parent you want me to be.  Help me as I seek to be a good example to Munchkin in all that I do including being a teacher, wife, and mother. You can download the Teach Me How Poster for personal…

Family Game Night with Say Anything

Posted in Reviews

Last year, we had the opportunity to review the fun game Wits & Wagers Family edition from North Star Games which our family has enjoyed playing.  Well, North Star Games has created yet another great family (or group) game – Say Anything Family Edition – where there are no wrong answers.  Sound interesting?  We thought so as we sat down to read the instructions. First Impressions: I totally appreciate that all the pieces are self-contained in the box for easy storage.  A ziploc-style baggie is included to store the smaller game tokens.  The game comes with everything you need to…

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and…

Review: Big Book of History (Timeline)

Posted in Reviews

Colors in this image are slightly off due to lighting issues. The Big Book of History is a huge timeline (15-feet to be precise) that starts with the literal 24-hour days of creation and ends in 2010 with President Obama declaring that the U.S. is no longer a Christian nation. The timeline book can be used like a book (just turn the timeline pages), or it can be unfolded to reveal history right before your eyes.  (It’s also available in a panel-only version where you can hang it on the wall.)  The sturdy, full-color pages feature a timeline where history…
