D’s second back surgery has been quite the reminder that all the planning in the world doesn’t mean a whole lot. We always thought that D would be an active duty Marine up until retirement, and then we’d find a permanent home. It looks like the Lord may have something else in mind. We just don’t know for sure at this point in time. All we know right now is that the Lord has a plan for our lives, so we’re going to trust Him to guide us and direct us.
We may like to think we’re in control of our lives, but the reality is that we’re not. Obviously, that doesn’t mean that we don’t plan for the future, but it does mean that nothing is ever set in concrete. We need to be willing to listen to the Lord’s leading and make adjustments as He directs. Fretting about what may or may not come into being does not good. Our understanding is limited, so we’ll trust…
God bless you all. It’s not always easy letting go and changing the direction that we thought we’d go.
Thinking about you,
d
