Tackling My Goals 3 at a Time

Posted in Christian Life, Fitness, and Homemaking

What is 3 in 30?  In the simplest terms, it’s a group support system to accomplish 3 goals in 30 days.  Instead of having an overwhelming long list of goals sitting in front of me, I will set 3 goals to accomplish each month.  I’ll be breaking down that long list into manageable chunks of 3.  Plus, I’ll have the support system in place to encourage me as I strive to meet my goals each month.

Each week of the month, there is a check-in on Friday. Each Friday is slightly different. The goal is to visit the others who have checked in that week and spread a little encouragement through comments. Throughout the week, participants can tweet about how they are doing.

When I read about the 3 in 30 plan, I knew that this was something in which I wanted to participate. There is something about the accountability aspect that tends to get me moving. Will I always achieve the goals that I set up for myself? Maybe not. If I don’t try, I definitely won’t achieve anything.

For this month, my goals will be:

  1. Homemaking Goal: de-clutter and organize the storage closet and classroom area
  2. Fitness Goal: exercise at least a little each day of the week (Monday – Friday)
  3. Spiritual Goal: do devotions every day

I’m not big into new years resolutions, but goals are something that I believe are important for everyone.  Have you set goals for yourself this year?  How are you going about achieving these goals?

  1. Those are great goals! I need to beef up my spiritual practice, too, but that would mean getting up even earlier.

You’ll see why that’s a problem in my post for this week (LOL).

  2. Great goals! One of my goals is to organize and clean the entire house before our first baby arrives. Just keeping the the clutter under control is a tough one! Good luck and keep up the great work! Stopping by from 3 in 30…

  3. I am not one for new years resolutions either. This is a totally different thing, though. I am so glad it came along, no matter the timing.

  7. I love the accountability and encouragement that is part of the 3 in 30 Challenge! Without accountability, I usually fall off the wagon within my first or second day of “failure.” But I’m learning through this challenge that failure isn’t bad, as long as I learn from it. Thanks for being a part of this challenge!
