To make things relaxing and enjoyable for all, we kept things very simple this time out. Even though we took out our trailer, I packed like we were heading out tent camping. Our meals were very simple with very little prep work necessary. D made his yummy eggs, bacon, and fried potatoes for breakfast. For our other meals, we just hand sandwiches and grilled cheese with fruit and chips.
Munchkin decided that she wanted to take her bicycle with us, so she had a blast riding her bike all over the place. Since we were out in the desert, she could ride for a good ways, and we could still see her. A few times, I took out the RZR with “puppy” in the seat, and Munchkin road her bike behind or in front of us. We went exploring that way. She was tuckered out after all of the riding, but it was a good tired.
One of the great things about were we live is that we can just go out and camp. We don’t have to go to a campground. We can find a place where we’re completely on our own. The only expense for us is the cost of fuel. It allows us to just go out and get away whenever we want without going broke in the process.
On Saturday night, it cooled down enough that we were able to enjoy a nice campfire. Since this was a last minute trip, we didn’t have any marshmallows to roast. We just enjoyed sitting by the fire and looking at the night sky.
On Sunday morning, we brought our breakfast outside and ate by the now cold fire pit. After breakfast, we did family devotions. I had planned on continuing the study on faith that we had started, but I forgot to bring it along. Instead, we ended up using a book that I had brought along to look over. The book (a devotional/study guide on creation) was perfect for that Sunday morning. We discussed how we could see the Creator in all of the beauty that we saw around us. It was a wonderful beginning to a lovely day. I’m always amazed at how the Lord uses various things to help us focus our hearts and minds on Him.
We headed out to explore some of the area around us. Munchkin road in the RZR with me while D road on his dirt bike. We came across this old mine area, and D and Munchkin decided to check it out a bit more.
To our surprise, we found water at the bottom of the mined area.
All too soon, it was time to pack up and head back home. We went home feeling more refreshed and almost ready to face a crazy new week. We praise the Lord for allowing us this special time away as a family – a time for learning more about Him and His Creation – a time for having fun as a family.
That sounds like the ideal way to relax! I miss Arizona every winter! We lived there for just over a year and loved it, summer heat and all.

Are you camping east of Tucson AZ? Some of those areas look so familiar. I pray you all continue to have a wonderful time. Blessings.
