Family Time & Field Trips

On Veterans Day, we try to do something to remember all of the Veterans who have fought so bravely for our country.  This year, we didn’t have anything particular in mind.  As we were driving to one of our planned field trip locations, we stumbled upon this memorial site.  We decided to stop and look at all of the names on the walls. Travel back in time with me to 1864… the area is bustling with military life as the U.S. Army prepares to travel all over the west. The Quartermaster Depot (QMD), a significant place in the history of the Arizona territory, was used to store and distribute supplies for all the military posts in Arizona, some in Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas.
