Flea Market Goodies

Posted in Holidays, and Homemaking

Unlike most of the country, we are now enjoying flea markets and roadside fruit/veggie stands.  This weekend, we stopped by the flea market that just opened for the season.  We didn’t realize how big it was until we pulled in to park.  It was also quite crowded.  We started walking around just to check it out when I spied a bulk nut and dried fruit booth.  I happily looked around and was pleasantly surprised at the prices.  We grabbed a few goodies (flax seeds, banana chips, walnut pieces), paid for our purchase, and moved on. As we were getting ready…

Sarah’s Promise Review

Kidnappers    Before the sun peeked over the horizon, while the morning star still shimmered in the western sky, they attacked. I always wonder if he’ll get tired of them, but he doesn’t. It’s just something that works for us. Most Saturday mornings, you will find D in the kitchen cooking breakfast. It’s not something that I ask him to do, and I certainly don’t expect it. Yet, that is what you’ll find him doing most weekends. He cooks up…

Munchkin & Math

Posted in Holidays, and Homeschooling

Munchkin has a love/hate relationship with math. Some days, she really enjoys it, and other days, well, she really hates it. She’s good at math, but she is also use to it being easy. As things get more difficult, she gets more frustrated. She’s also a perfectionists, so that can make math a bit tedious. Right now, she is having fun with an online math program, Mathetics, that is challenging yet fun. Plus, it plugs in to her competitive nature as she can compete to be in the top spot for the US or the World. Now, she doesn’t really…
