Sometimes, I spend a good bit of time planning out our field trips. I’ll do research, and we’ll do a lapbook or read books about where we are going. Other times, we just go and learn from the information available on site. We will pick up brochures and sometimes a book to read after the fact. The staff on site is usually more than happy to point you in the right direction and answer questions. Yesterday, after packing a picnic lunch, we hopped in the car and headed out for a couple of field trips. There really was no planning involved, but we learned a great deal during our time there.
Today, I am very grateful for the time that D had off from work this week. It was fun being able to go on a few field trips with him. He misses out on so many things, so we are always appreciative of him being able to join us on our adventures.
