My project for Tackle It Tuesday will be to finish laying the pavers that we removed from the patio area around the newly created fire pit (I used the old bricks from the steps). I started the project yesterday and hope to complete it today.
Yesterday, D spent a bit of time taking out the first layer of brick steps from the back of the house in preparation of putting down the deck. It was a painstaking process even with the proper tools, but he did a great job. He then moved on to laying out the design for the deck.
He wanted me to document the process this time as I’m really bad about before and after pictures. So, here’s the layout (approximately) of the new deck. There will be some tweaking as the process continues.
We’ll be working on it this week as he heads back to work next week.
wow! u are doing this all by yourself? i’m pretty amazed! I don’t think i can do a project like this…i have no idea where to start if i do it,lol! great job!!!

That’s quite a tackle. I’m sure the deck will turn out very nice. My beloved put a deck/porch up at our previous home (which I documented on our old blog). It was his first time building one and he did such a great job. If we ever get out of base housing, again, I look forward to building another with him.
