We’re at the new house working and having fun. Ok, so I have a lot of painting and tasks to do this week, but for Tackle It Tuesday, I will be tackling this!!
Yes, that is a painted on blue and orange “tile” backsplash. Now, the idea was a good one, but it’s got to go. So, today, we’ll be saying goodbye to the fake tiles and the lime green walls in the eat-in kitchen. If all goes well, I will also paint the attached laundry room…
For the rest of the week, I will be tackling painting the lime green living room and hallway. I will also be painting the sky blue room. (I have nothing against sky blue — it just doesn’t go with any of our things.)
Munchkin will be doing some painting of her own. She’ll be tackling priming the wood sofa bed (basically like a futon). If she does a good job, I’ll be having her paint it as well. (She really wants to do some painting as well!!
We can’t forget having some fun too, so we’ll be tackling taking a walk with our dog around the new neighborhood.

With some help from munchkin, the laundry room is completed as well.
Still to do this week: living room, hallway, and office. If we have time and feel up to it, we’ll be painting the other bedroom as well. The only rooms that we’re not repainting are munchkin’s room and the master bedroom.

We have decided not to move after all – I’m relieved in some ways! =) But I still tackled my art room (which felt hopeless…but it was not!)

Yes, that blue and orange and lime green would be hard to live with. I love painting, though it is hard to actually get to it — once you get going it’s easy to see a dramatic difference right away. Have fun!

Sounds like you are getting settled into your new house–so exciting! At first I thought the backsplash was tiled those colors and didn’t look too bad (kinda unique). But then when you said it was painted on–yikes! Lime green is a hard color. I’ve only seen it work in a few situations. It really isn’t my favorite. Have fun painting and enjoy exploring your new neighborhood!

That’s a great color in your kitchen. We have a lot of painting to do in our house and am looking to do a burnt orange color similar to yours. Would you mind sharing what paint and color you used? Thanks.
Lynette, the paint color is burnt brick. I got it from Lowes. It’s Eddie Bauer Home. I used the American Tradition satin finish. Hope that helps.
