Around Thanksgiving, I ran across a homeschooling family that put out the old time radio shows on the internet for free. I subscribed and received a fun series called Cinnamon Bear. We listened to one episode each evening up until Christmas (unfortunately, we didn’t finish due to illness). We had a blast listening to this series, so I subscribed to Living Books For the Ears. Bread Machine: Oatmeal Bread Recipe

We absolutely love fresh baked bread. Only, I like to cheat and use the bread machine. It took a while before I found a recipe that I really liked. Have fun adding different types of grains with it. This is the standard recipe. Oatmeal Bread Ingredients:1 1/2 c water (warm)1/4 c sugar1/4 c vegetable oil2 tsp salt1 tsp lemon juice1 c wheat flour2 c all purpose flour1 1/2 c quick-cooking oats (not instant)2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast Directions:In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. I am not a morning person. I get my best, most restful sleep in the morning hours. There are several factors that come into play here, but that’s not what this post is about. I prefer to stay up later to get things done. The house is quiet and there are very few interruptions. That being said, I enjoy my morning devotions. My make it from scratch entry this week is spaghetti sauce and biscuits. I’m posting my entry early, since I won’t be able to post it before Monday if I wait until the weekend.
