We absolutely love fresh baked bread. Only, I like to cheat and use the bread machine. It took a while before I found a recipe that I really liked. Have fun adding different types of grains with it. This is the standard recipe.
Oatmeal Bread
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c water (warm)
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c vegetable oil
2 tsp salt
1 tsp lemon juice
1 c wheat flour
2 c all purpose flour
1 1/2 c quick-cooking oats (not instant)
2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
Directions:
In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. (I place dry ingredients first, followed by wet ingredients). Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available. Bake according to bread machine instructions.
