After being inspired by all the great aprons that I have been seeing on other blogs, I decided to try my hands at matching aprons for my daughter and I. I didn’t want to spend much money (or time), so I thought about different options that I had. I decided that I’d head over to the thrift store and see what jumpers they had. I found a very cute strawberry print jumper, and it was less than $1. I knew that with some work, I could create a jumper for both my daughter and I out of this. Yes!
At home, I ripped out the seams and used the front of the jumper for my apron and the back of the jumper for my daughter’s apron. For the ties on mine, I just used scrap material from the jumper. I did the same for the “necks” for both of our aprons. For my daughter’s ties, I used some scrap ribbon that was left over from Christmas. I think they turned out pretty good for my first try at an apron. Now, we have our Strawberry Mommy & Me aprons.
Here’s the finished product:
These are adorable! You did a great job.

LOVE THOSE APRONS!
What a great idea! We are often given dresses that are far too big or outdated, but the fabric is pretty. This gives us another way to use them besides making skirts. And we need some cute aprons around here…lots of aspiring cooks and just a couple of plain jane aprons.
I’m curious, did you use a pattern for these, or freehand it?
They are really cute!!!
These are so cute and what a great idea! I love that you were so creative and were able to reuse material inside of buying it new! I bet your daughter loves it! -Tiffany
That was smart. They are cute too!
What a fantastic idea! I love strawberries, and those aprons are adorable. How clever of you!
Thank you! I just free-handed the aprons. The basic pattern was there since it was a jumper to begin with.
