Scholastic currently has a free unit study on the Underground Railroad. Scholastic is also having their dollar days sale for teachers right now. Homeschoolers are included in this sale. You just need to sign up for an account and have that account verified. I placed the order and then called to have my account verified. I received my books yesterday. What a great deal!! Lowes Build & Grow Clinics

Every other Saturday, Lowes hosts a free Build & Grow Clinic for kids. The kids get to build different projects (for free). They are given safety goggles, an apron, and the project. Upon completion of the project, they receive a certificate of completion and a patch to put on their apron. This month, they are featuring a Memory Box (for Mother’s Day) on May 10th and a See It Grow Planter on May 24th. We usually just pick ours up and take them with us. Online Black Friday Sales/Freebies

Yes, I got up very early this morning to pick up a few things from the store. For those who would rather stay cozy and warm at home, there are some great sales online. Homeschool Estore is holding their second annual Black Friday Giveaway and Sale. There are at least 20 freebies plus great sale prices on their other products. Free Children’s Books

The Indiana Pacers have a program called Locker Room Library. At the website, you can print out a form that you fill out and send in to receive a free book. They have a long list of books (at least 100). You put down your top 3 choices just in case your selection is no longer available. Here’s the fun part. You can send in the form as many times as you wish! What a great way to build up your child’s library.
