While Munchkin and I were staying at the cabin, we had the opportunity to volunteer at Happy Trails Horse Camp for special needs individuals. We had previously taken the orientation and training, so we were all set to start when we arrived at the cabin. Each camp session lasted 3 days and saw a new set of campers/riders. Today was Munchkin’s first day at the therapeutic horse stables. Daddy woke her up when he got up this morning and dropped her off before he headed to work. She was rather tired as she’s a night owl like her mama, so she’s working on getting her body to adjust to this new schedule. She’s going to start off with a couple of hours (or so) a day two days a week until she sees how she does at the job, chores, and balancing school work. Over the last year, we’ve watched Munchkin’s focus slowly shift from dinosaurs and paleontology to horses.  She liked the idea of being a paleontologist, but the reality wasn’t something that she truly wanted to try to do.  With horses, she definitely likes the idea of working with horses.  She also dreams of rescuing horses and working with horse therapy for kids.  We thought it would be nice if she could actually get some hands on time with this to see if it was just the idea that she likes or if she really does like the reality as well, but…
