Thankful Thursday: Delicious Gluten Free Food

Posted in Christian Life, Family, and Gluten Free

Today, as I was sitting here thinking about what to write for my Thankful Thursday post, I realized that I wanted to write about food.  I’ve been working with, eating, and writing about food so much lately that it just makes sense. Prior to going gluten free, we took eating for granted.  We could eat whatever we wanted and not have to worry about it.  I felt bad for those that had food allergies, but I hadn’t experienced it for myself.  I didn’t really understand that world.  After going gluten free, the reality sank in that our eating would never…

The Joy of Friendship

Posted in Family, and Military Life

I’ve written before that we have been blessed by good neighbors, good friends at this duty station. I was reminded again today how grateful I am for these good friendships as Munchkin happily ran around with her friend while we stood and talked with her mom, our neighbor. Munchkin does her school work quickly and efficiently (most days), so she has time to get her chores done before her friends come over to play.  She has multiple girl friends here which has never happened in the past.  Most of her friends are Christians and homeschoolers.  Once again, that isn’t something…

Thankful Thursday: Support

Posted in Christian Life, and Family

As I sat watching the Olympics, I thought about all of the support that these athletes needed to get to where they were at right now.  They needed family, friends, coaches, and colleges supporting them each step of the way.  They needed dedication and perseverance as they strove to accomplish their goal.  Shaun White didn’t stomp 2 runs and win the gold by sitting around idly watching others.  He was out there working hard. This week, as I made the switch from hosting on blogger to my own self-hosted blog, I felt like I was competing in some type of…

Thankful Thursday: Daily Blessings

Posted in Christian Life, and Family

While we’ve had some less than stellar things happen this week, I am very thankful for all of the Lord’s blessings on us. I have a wonderful husband sleeping beside me each night. I have a beautiful daughter resting peacefully in the next room. D’s truck is now up and running, so I have my own vehicle again. D was promoted this week. I have amazing blogging friends who reach out, leave comments, rejoice and pray with me. I praise the Lord for all of the things that He has chosen to bless us this week.  I give Him the…

Thankful Thursday: Rain!

Posted in Family

Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As raindrops on the tender herb, And as showers on the grass. For I proclaim the name of the Lord: Ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice; Righteous and upright is He. ~Deuteronomy 32: 1-4 This week, we are receiving rain, beautiful, earth-soaking rain.  When you live in a place where it rarely rains, this is a glorious…
