Thankful Thursday: Rain!

Posted in Family

Rain droplet on Birdfeeder

Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak;
And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
Let my teaching drop as the rain,
My speech distill as the dew,
As raindrops on the tender herb,
And as showers on the grass.
For I proclaim the name of the Lord:
Ascribe greatness to our God.
He is the Rock, His work is perfect;
For all His ways are justice;
Righteous and upright is He.
~Deuteronomy 32: 1-4

This week, we are receiving rain, beautiful, earth-soaking rain.  When you live in a place where it rarely rains, this is a glorious thing.  Sandy dirt is washed away.  Spirits are lifted as new life comes from the rain.  Children dance and play in the rain as it brings simple joy.  Parents smile as they watch the happiness on the faces of children young and old.

I am thankful for the rain.  I am thankful for our Lord who created the rain.  I am thankful that like the sandy dirt my sins have been washed away by the cleansing blood of my Savior.  I am thankful that like a child I can find joy in the simple pleasures in life.

Thank you, Lynn, for hosting Thankful Thursday this month.

    This reminds me of a story a friend told me years ago. If memory serves me right they lived in Singapore and it hardly ever rained. When it did they would go outside and dance in it 🙂

    enjoy the rain our Lord has made
    He is awesome 🙂
