Thankful Thursday: A Fresh Look

Posted in Family

Last week, we were struggling to get our footing under us as a sequence of events left us torn and broken.  As a family, we were hurting, and we received an outpouring of love, encouragement, and prayers from many individuals both online and in person.  The Lord used so many people to touch us, and there really is no way I can adequately express how much we appreciate it all. Over the weekend, the Lord brought a sweet puppy into our lives which allowed some healing to begin.  Oh, it hasn’t been a cake walk as new dogs require lots…

Thankful Thursday: Surgery Recovery Update

D met with the military “board” yesterday.  We are now cautiously optimistic about D’s future in the military.  We were given some hope that due to his rank and job that he’ll be able to continue being a Marine, and he could make it to retirement.  They were pleased to see how well he was doing already.  He has rough days especially when he does too much, but recovery is going well.  We still have a long road ahead, and things could change in an instant. The campground that D chose had trails all through the campgrounds.  We were up on a mountain in the forest.  The…

That trip lead to us purchasing our first travel trailer.  We were limited in what we…

Working and Listening

Posted in Christian Life, and Homemaking

Ever since I found the audio Bible online, I have been listening to scripture while I do my housework or other tasks that do not require me to think.  I can listen to the scripture passage and still get things done.  I was struggling when I was trying to do everything plus read the longer scripture passages for the Bible in 90 Days challenge.  Now, that I don’t feel the least bit stressed about it, I’m enjoying the challenge again. I only wish I would have done this a bit earlier in the challenge.  The funny thing is that I’m…
