Working and Listening

Ever since I found the audio Bible online, I have been listening to scripture while I do my housework or other tasks that do not require me to think.  I can listen to the scripture passage and still get things done.  I was struggling when I was trying to do everything plus read the longer scripture passages for the Bible in 90 Days challenge.  Now, that I don’t feel the least bit stressed about it, I’m enjoying the challenge again.

I only wish I would have done this a bit earlier in the challenge.  The funny thing is that I’m actually listening to more than the required reading daily since I don’t have to drop everything that I’m doing.  I am also focusing more on the scripture than the chores that I need to complete.  The key is to only listen while I’m doing things that allow me to focus on the scripture reading.

I am so thankful that I found this resource and for the new found joy in the challenge.  I disliked that it felt like the reading of scripture had become a burden.  Reading God’s Word should never be a burden.  I am grateful that the Lord lead me back to having a joyful heart.  The Lord is good and His patience is amazing.

  3. What a great idea! I am going to give that a try too. I would love to go through the Bible like that but I know I would want to read it slowly and get frustrated because I can not linger and get through it. This way I could listen anytime and how cool is that!

    • This really is working well for me. If I want to go more in depth, I can still do that in the evening. It’s the best of both methods. 🙂
