Healthy Lunches with Packit Giveaway!

Posted in Reviews

We usually take our meals with us when we’re out and about.  Since we’re gluten free, it’s easier to have food with us instead of trying to find “safe” food to eat.  That doesn’t mean that we never eat out, but that’s the exception, not the norm for us.  One of the difficulties that we’ve found with taking certain foods (cheese, yogurt, meat) is keeping the foods cold.  Ice makes the foods less than desirable.  Ice packs tend to thaw a little too fast especially in the summer. I combat this issue by using more ice packs in the cooler…

A New Humidifier

Posted in Family, Photography, and Reviews

Project 365 – #052 Last week, when we visited our local health food store to pick up some gluten free bread and peanut butter, I saw this lovely looking humidifier.  We were in the market for a new cool mist humidifier because our current warm mist humidifiers just weren’t working for us in this hot climate.   Plus, I had heard that it’s better to use a cool mist humidifier.  The store owners had the humidifier running near the cash register, so I inquired about it. The cashier informed me that it was an Humio ultrasonic cool mist humidifier with a…

RedEnvelope D and I had fun picking our our Valentine’s Gift with the gift certificate that we received from RedEnvelope.  We decided to get something practical and something beautiful.  I was surprised by the great selection available.  There was truly a little something for everyone.  The ordering process was very easy. We set up delivery for today – February 11th. What did we decide to order?  Well, we chose the Nickname Coffee Cups and the Growers Choice Bouquet with square glass vase.  The Grower’s Choice “bouquet includes grower’s choice of either a beautiful mix of assorted flowers or a single…

Review: Toggle Bandz

Posted in Reviews

Toggle Bandz are one of those really cool products where you say to yourself, “why didn’t I think of that?”  Stay-at-home mom and military wife  Amanda Duke created Toggle Bandz out of necessity when she couldn’t get regular headbands to stay in her daughter’s fine hair.  (Gotta love it one someone sees a problem and does something about it!) I liked the idea of an adjustable, soft headband as Munchkin seems to always have problems with regular headbands.  Here is where I need to apologize to Amanda as this review should have been posted a few weeks ago – shortly…

Review and Giveaway: Roundabouts Cupcake Sleeves

Posted in Reviews

Say goodbye to everyday cupcakes and hello to eye-catching, fun cupcakes. Recently, I have been making cupcake wraps to jazz up my cupcakes, so I was intrigued when I heard about Roundabouts Cupcake Sleeves.  Sheri Mersola, the inventor of Roundabouts, decided to take typical cupcake wraps and kick them up a notch or ten.  Roundabouts transform cupcakes into mini works of art – centerpieces for parties and get togethers. We received a package of the root beer float sleeves to review.  Yesterday, Munchkin baked some delicious gluten free chocolate cupcakes, so we could try out the cupcake sleeves.  They were…
