Names of Jesus Study

Posted in Holidays, and Homeschooling

I was trying to decide what we should do for our Christmas studies this year, but nothing really was coming to mind. We’ve done a variety of studies over the years, but I finally decided that we were going to go back and do another Names of Jesus study. Munchkin really enjoyed it when we did it a few years ago, so I thought it might be a good one to revisit. Because I didn’t want to go exactly the same route as before, I created some ornaments for the names that we’d be studying as well as some notebooking…

Printable Passport with State Stamps

Posted in Homeschooling

As you know, I recently started putting together the state notebooking pages, and I started to think about other fun ways to study the states. I remembered the stamps that you can get at the different National Parks (and some state parks) that allow you to stamp you own “passport” when you visit. I knew that some people had used a printable passport when they studied different countries and decided it would be a fun idea to incorporate into the study of the states. I designed a basic printable passport that can be personalized with the student’s picture and other…

Notebooking Through the States

Posted in Homeschooling

A few years ago, I created our United States Lapbook which worked nicely for learning about the states and for review. Now that Munchkin is working more on notebooking than on lapbooking, I thought it would be nice to start creating some notebooking pages for studying the different states. This Notebooking Through the States set includes notebooking pages for each of the states as well as activity pages, puzzles, word searches, and more. I’ve also added generic pages that allow for use with any state. State Information Resources Here are some of the resources that work for gathering information to fill…

Character Studies

For Bible this year, we’re going to be using the Keepers of the Faith Write Upon My Heart Character Curriculum as our spine. Since there are 18 books in the series, I asked Daddy to place them in the order in which he would like Munchkin to study them. Now I’m in the process of creating notebooking pages for each book in the series. (The books can be written in, but since I plan on adding more to the studies, I wanted to create notebooking pages for Munchkin to use. It will also create a nice keepsake for the future.)…

Notebooking Pages: Fall Writing Prompts

Posted in Homeschooling

One of the things that I miss about living where there are seasons is the fall colors and the crisp autumn breezes.  I also miss things like going to the apple orchard and cider mill as well as going on hay rides out to the pumpkin patch.  Now, don’t get me wrong….  I do enjoy the mild winters here as it allows us to be outside in the sunshine most of the year.  Granted, we tend to hibernate a bit in the summer when temps soar.  At the same time, fall isn’t quite the same without the brilliant hues of the changing…
