Names of Jesus Study

Names of Jesus Ornaments

I was trying to decide what we should do for our Christmas studies this year, but nothing really was coming to mind. We’ve done a variety of studies over the years, but I finally decided that we were going to go back and do another Names of Jesus study. Munchkin really enjoyed it when we did it a few years ago, so I thought it might be a good one to revisit. Because I didn’t want to go exactly the same route as before, I created some ornaments for the names that we’d be studying as well as some notebooking pages. I went ahead and created ornaments with colorful backgrounds in addition to ornaments that could be colored. Since we tend to find a few extra names along the way, I made sure there were some blank ornaments for those names.

Names of Jesus Notebooking Pages

Most of the notebooking pages consist of copywork for the names of Jesus verses. Other pages include copywork for the How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds poem by John Newton. Finally, I made a few pages for acrostic poems using some of the names of Jesus.

Names of Jesus Word Search

I wrapped up the pages with a word search featuring some of the names of Jesus. The planned names in our study include:

  • Alpha and Omega
  • Wonderful Counselor
  • Mighty God
  • Everlasting Father
  • Prince of Peace
  • Lamb of God
  • Good Shepherd
  • Star
  • Christ, Messiah
  • Immanuel
  • Holy One
  • Light of the World
  • The Word
  • Servant
  • King
  • Rose of Sharon
  • Lily of the Valley
  • Friend
  • Savior
  • Shiloh
  • Ancient of Days

With everything that we’ve had going on, we’re getting a late start, so this study will probably go beyond Christmas. We’ll see. We may end up doing more than one name a day to catch up. 😉 Ultimately, we’ll see were we are lead as we study the different names of Jesus. Sometimes the expected path turns into something completely unexpected.

The Names of Jesus Activity and Notebooking Pages set is now part of the Marine Corps Nomads Homeschool Resource Library. They’re still free, but they’re now hosted right here. All of the free homeschool resources are available in one easy-access location. You can sign up for free access to the resource library below.

If you have friends or family who are interested in these free resources, please have them sign up as well. Thanks for your support!
