Our United States Lapbook

Posted in Homeschooling

Munchkin wants to do a study of the states while we are doing the study of the Presidents. The plan is to study one state and one President per week. We discussed what she wanted to learn about the different states and made this lapbook. For more information about this lapbook and to download the templates, you can go to the completed United States Lapbook post. We couldn’t find an image that we liked for the front cover, so we combined several images (in Printmaster) to create this cover. We will be learning about each state individually. Each state booklet…

Presidents Lapbook

Posted in Homeschooling

I designed this lapbook for Munchkin to be filled in throughout the year. We’ll be learning about each President. All the templates are now available for download at homeschool share. Once again, I designed the cover in my PrintMaster program. The book is a little thicker, so it doesn’t close completely. She’ll be learning about the requirements to become US President and Presidential responsibility. She’ll also be writing about states where the Presidents live and why we have a President (and not a king). She will be recording which Presidents are on the different coins and bills. In addition, we’ll…

Parables of Jesus Lapbook

Posted in Homeschooling

Currently, we’re studying some of the parables of Jesus. We’re focusing on parables about growth and parables about stewardship. I wanted to come up with a way to review all of the parables that we’ve studied throughout the unit. I thought since Munchkin enjoys the lapbooks so much that I would make up a simple lapbook for her. I assembled it, and she’ll fill it out at the end of the unit. You can download the lapbook here: Parables Lapbook. The images are slightly different from the pictured due to use restrictions. The lapbook is for personal or classroom use…

Olympics Lapbook

Posted in Homeschooling

We put together this lapbook before the Olympics started, and we’ll continue to work on it during the Olympics. We designed this cover with the PrintMaster program. The images are courtesy of the Official Olympics website. The images for the Olympic mascots were found on the Olympic website. They also had information on what each mascot symbolized. When you put their names together — Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni — they say “Welcome to Beijing.” On the back of the lapbook, we pasted some images of famous places in China as well as descriptions about these areas. We also found…

Periodic Table Lapbook

Posted in Homeschooling

This lapbook is based on the book Fizz, Bubble & Flash!: Element Explorations & Atom Adventures for Hands-On Science Fun! We were able to pick this up from our local library, but it’s one that I want to add to our bookshelf! We picked out 3 elements from each group to put in the respective mini books. Munchkin wrote the name, symbol, atomic number, atomic mass, who discovered it, and when it was discovered. You could easily go really in depth with this lapbook, but we kept it simple. Today, we’ve declared Experiment Day!!! We’re going to have fun doing…
