After reading the Sarah book series, Munchkin decided that she wanted to be Sarah for the fall festival at church. In her mind, she had an idea of what she thought Sarah’s outfit would look like. We looked at a few different patterns and fabrics, and I made her an outfit. I pulled out an old costume that I had made for myself several years ago and transformed it to work for this time period. Munchkin loves to play board games. Me? Not so much. I usually pass off the board game playing to Daddy when possible. The problem? Daddy has been pretty busy since we moved here, so Munchkin hasn’t been able to play very many board games lately. At the same time this was going on, Munchkin started to get a little tired of the regular routine for school. Doing just the basics wasn’t cutting it for her. She needed some variety, some fun. The Read to Me has come to a close. We were asked to summarize our results in a post. We accomplished out goal of getting back on track with reading. This mission/contest helped motivate us to get started with our reading again. It’s so easy to allow life to get in the way of reading and let the t.v. take control. We need to make time for reading and family. It’s fun to sit down and read together as a family. Kids love being read to even when they know how to read themselves. It can be a special time…

Well, we started off on the right foot, and then life caught up to us. Too much going on…. So this week, I’m trying to recommit to our original schedule of reading. I had planned on continuing with the Narnia series, but I forgot to bring it with us this week. So, we’ll just be reading something else. We’re still doing ok with the individual reading, but we haven’t been reading every day. I want to make that a priority for us. So that’s how we’re doing right now.
