Encouraging My Daughter

Posted in Christian Life, and Family

Project 365 – #245 When you wake up in the middle of night having that feeling that you need to pray, you listen.  When you feel the Lord leading you to be an encouragement, you do it.  These are the things that I’ve learned over the years, and I know that the Lord uses these moments in the middle of the night to get my attention.  I also know that I need to follow whatever I am lead to do even if it’s in the middle of the night. Last night, my dog woke me up to go outside.  After…

Coffee or Tea Anyone?

Project 365 – #244 Our neighbors have a Keurig which D thought was pretty nice, but he never thought it would be a good fit for him.  Then, when my Dad and stepmom starting giving rave reviews for their Keurig, he started thinking about it, a little.  His major hang up is that he drinks a good bit of coffee.  He makes a large pot in the morning and takes most of it to work with him.  He didn’t think the Keurig would fit with his normal routine.  When we were on vacation, my Dad talked about how he actually…

Shucking Corn

Posted in Homemaking, and Photography

Project 365 – #243 On Saturday, we picked up our Bountiful Baskets order which included a nice large box of corn.  We’ve enjoyed some of the fresh corn, but today, it was time to get it all shucked, boiled, and frozen to enjoy at a later date.  I had forgotten how much I really don’t care for shucking that many ears of corn at once.  There is a reason that we all had to do it as kids.  It’s because the adults didn’t really want to do it.  **wink**  It’s worth it though because we ended up with lots of…

Foundations: Christian Apologetic Course

Posted in Christian Life, and Homeschooling

Project 365 – #242 I think I’ve mentioned a time or two (or ten) that we had the privilege of listening to Ken Ham at our state homeschool convention in July.  While we were there, we ordered the brand new Foundations curriculum from Answers in Genesis.  The idea was for us to go through this 12-week study as a family, and from there, we would develop it into a Christian Apologetic Course for Munchkin (for high school credit). Last week, the curriculum set arrived.  Foundations is actually set up in an adult, group study format.  The curriculum set comes with…

Hopping Along

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Photography

Project 365 – #241 Isn’t that guy just too cute?  He (or maybe she?) was kind enough to hop out from the little cave to allow me to snap a few pictures before hopping back into the cooler shade that it afforded.  Since the other animals were not so inclined to help out, this critter was the only one that is being featured.  lol! Yesterday, I was once again reminded of how much I use the internet for research and preparation for our homeschool day.  After lunch, I went to get on the internet to try to do some prep…
