Thankful Thursday: Thoughts

Posted in Family

This week, as I start to write this post, I find it difficult to really get into the thankful spirit. Yet, I know that being thankful is not an emotion, but a decision that I must make. Once again, thank you Iris for hosting Thankful Thursdays to remind us to be thankful for all that we have in our lives. I am thankful that we were able to spend a long weekend with my husband before he had to leave again. Originally, he was suppose to be gone for a month straight. I am thankful that I was able to…

Spring Reading Thing 2007

Posted in Blogging

We’ve been challenged, once again, to get reading. This time we’re being held accountable by having to post our list of reading books. This “contest” will run from March 21, 2007 through June 21, 2007. Since we’ll be reading together as a family and individually, I will post my reading list and then the family’s reading list. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get them all done. I’ll try to update throughout the time period and post reviews as we finish different books. My reading list: 1. Humor for a friend’s heart 2. The Power of a Praying Parent 3. The…

Read to Me: Results

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

The Read to Me has come to a close. We were asked to summarize our results in a post. We accomplished out goal of getting back on track with reading. This mission/contest helped motivate us to get started with our reading again. It’s so easy to allow life to get in the way of reading and let the t.v. take control. We need to make time for reading and family. It’s fun to sit down and read together as a family. Kids love being read to even when they know how to read themselves. It can be a special time…

Posted in Homemaking

Ok, I’m running way behind today. We saw D off very early this morning (around 4:30 am). Munchkin didn’t fall back asleep after he left, so we’re both rather tired. After resting for awhile, I packed up the vehicle and we headed back down to the new house. We’re here and unpacked (again), so that’s why things are behind today. lol! So, on to my tip for today. Now, I know this has been out for awhile, but have you tried the Pam cooking spray with Flour? This stuff is great! No more greasing and sprinkling with flour. It’s an…

Happy 1st Day of Spring

Posted in Holidays

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy 1st day of Spring. It doesn’t feel very springy around here. It keeps going back and forth between beautiful, warm weather and gloomy, chilly weather. But, we’re still enjoying seeing all the new signs of life. We have daffodils blooming, tulips peeking through the ground, trees flowering, and all kinds of plants growing. Hopefully, the weather will soon stabilize and we’ll all be enjoying consistent springy weather!!
