All Purpose GF Rice Flour Mix

Posted in Gluten Free, and Homemaking

Here is a great gluten free rice flour mix that you can usually use in place of all purpose flour. You will also need to add 1/2 tsp of xanthan gum per cup for cakes and 1 tsp xanthan gum for breads. I made this up ahead of time (minus xanthan gum) and keep it in an air tight container. 3 C White Rice Flour3 C Brown Rice Flour2 C Potato Starch (not flour)1 C Tapioca Starch

Monday, the library had a fun event which involved African drums. It was all about drums in history. They even made their own drums. As you can imagine, this was a big hit. On Tuesday, we find ourselves back at the library for a PJ party!! You can not beat good stories, some fun singing and dancing, and some yummy popcorn. Today, we headed…

Tiny Treats

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Thoughts

After seeing the fun Tiny Treats featured in Family Fun magazine, we decided that these would be perfect for Munchkin’s American girl doll collection. We’ve never worked with polymer clay, so really we didn’t know what to expect, but we ended up having a lot of fun making all of these goodies. Since we were having so much fun, I found a book about polymer clay miniatures at the library. I showed how to make all kinds of little goodies. We picked up some more polymer clay (on sale)…
