Thursday: This and That

I know that I haven’t been blogging much this week other than recipes and reviews/giveaways.  It’s been a busy week.  Plus, we’ve been enjoying the beautiful weather.  We’re taking advantage of these warm days before the summer heat sets in.  I’ve been spending less time on the computer and more time doing other things.  I just needed a bit of a break.  Soon enough, we’ll be hibernating for the summer. I’ve been happily baking, cooking, and creating new recipes. I had forgotten how relaxing it is to be in the kitchen just creating and having fun.  All too soon, it…

Being Supermom?

The TOS Crew question of the week was “How do homeschoolers find time for everything?”  Well, seeing how I didn’t actually get the chance to write up my response to the question in time, I would have to say that we don’t. lol! We all have decisions to make about our time and priorities.  It’s pretty much impossible to get everything done that we’d like to accomplish each day even if we cut out all tv or other things viewed as time wasters. We always have one more thing that needs to be done or could be done. After my…

Munchkin had a blast at her 50s night at Awana.  She and her friends enjoy their time there each Wednesday night.  Next week is movie night.  They’ll be watching a movie and having snacks.  Munchkin volunteered me to make cookies.  I told her that next time she needs to ask me first. lol! On Friday afternoon, we picked D up from the airport.  It’s nice to have him home.  We spent most of the afternoon relaxing.  I finished up the aprons for my sister (yes, I just now finished them) while D and Munchkin watched a little tv together.  Well,…

Last night, the rain began to fall.  The soft pitter patter could be heard outside our window.  I love listening to the sound of rain, and that sound so often heard when we were on the East Coast is rarely heard here.  There is something soothing about falling asleep to that rhythmic sound. By the time we got up and around, the rain had stopped.  We took D to the airport and said the sad farewells.  Whether it’s a few days, a few weeks, or a few months, the goodbyes are never easy on Munchkin.  This time, he’s only gone…

Martin Luther King, Jr., (January 15, 1929-April 4, 1968) was born Michael Luther King, Jr., but later had his name changed to Martin. In 1954, Martin Luther King became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. King, always active in the civil rights movement, was a member of the executive committee of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. In 1957 he was elected president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, an organization formed to provide new leadership for the now burgeoning civil rights movement. The ideals for this organization he took from Christianity; its…
