We use the Weaver curriculum in our homeschooling and LOVE it, but we’re taking a little break from it for a little bit. We started the Prairie Primer this week. The Prairie Primer is a unit study based on the Little House series. Grandma was kind enough to give munchkin the complete Little House series, so we have them available. We were also able to find the Little House cookbook, so that should be a fun addition. So, today, we started our new adventure into Laura’s life. Family Time

Munchkin and I headed out to the Peach Orchard to go peach picking today. Neither one of us has been peach picking before, so we had a great time. We’ve really enjoyed our special time together this week. Wednesday we enjoy picking lots and lots of blueberries and blackberries. Thursday, we had a fun Wild Food Walk and Talk field trip. We had a blast learning about edible plants in the wild. I don’t feel comfortable just picking plants and eating them yet, but it definitely peaked our interest. Small Break

We had a wonderful visit with our new Pastor last night. He stopped by to see if we had any questions about the church and to pray with us before D left. It was nice to see a Pastor that had a genuine desire to help his flock. This weekend we’ll be spending time preparing for D’s departure, so I won’t be online. We’re praying that he’ll be able to come home some weekends, but there is no guarantee. We’ll be spending family time together, and I’ll be doing lots and lots of baking. Tackle It Tuesday

Lots of routine things to get done this week… 1) I need to get the laundry tackled. It’s amazing how missing one normal laundry day can create such a craziness in trying to get caught up again. Yikes! 2) Get the backyard mowed (if it doesn’t rain). I need to get this done so D doesn’t feel like he needs to do it. 3) Finish getting the dishes done.
