Frugal Valentine’s & Dating Ideas

Posted in Holidays, and Thoughts

It’s that time of the year when people start thinking about love and Valentine’s Day. Since my beloved is away, I won’t be spending as much time blogging about Valentine’s Day this year. Munchkin will still get her fun Valentine’s treats, and D’s package is on it’s way there for him. I thought I would revisit some posts from last year to highlight some ideas for a frugal Valentine’s Day and frugal dating throughout the year. Dating doesn’t have to be expensive. Have fun dating on a budget. Need some fun Valentine’s crafting ideas? Check out this post about Valentine’s…

Fellowship and Fun

Today, we spent the late afternoon/evening in the company of another Christian, military, homeschooling family. This family is also dealing with deployment issues, so it was nice to be able to sit down and talk to someone who understands what we’re dealing with on a day to day basis. The adults enjoyed some refreshing, non-kiddo conversation while the kiddos had fun just playing together and being kids. When supper time came, we ate pizza together (we brought gluten-free pizza with us) and enjoyed watching a movie together. Munchkin and I generally enjoy spending our time at home. We like to…

Enjoying Nature

This week has been an interesting week which has lead to very little blogging on my part. Between a little accident (me, cutting finger to the bone) and sickness (Munchkin and I), we’ve pretty much been laying low. Typing was a difficult and painful task, so I just didn’t do it unless I had to (gotta keep “talking” to my beloved). I was able to vote (absentee ballet) and do our taxes which are things that needed to get done. On the bright side, the weather has been beautiful this week. We’ve been able to open the windows in the…

Prayer Request — Updated!!

For all of those that pray, I’m asking you to pray for a little boy right now. He drank a lot of anti-freeze which is deadly. He was taken to the ER, but they couldn’t treat him there. He was quickly taken to another location to be treated. They are currently waiting for bloodwork to find out where they will go from there. It’s a horrible waiting game for the family right now. Please pray for him and his family. My sister is watching his siblings right now, so pray for them as well. ***Updated*** The power of prayer is…

Tickled Pink

It’s pretty bad when you get really excited about fixing something yourself. lol! Today, the house was quite chilly, but I didn’t think much of it as it was cold outside. I just plugged in the portable heater in the room that we were in. Fast forward to bedtime… Munchkin heads to her room and it’s freezing. She complains that the vent is blowing out cold air. Ugh! I look at the thermostat and it reads 58 degrees. Um, I’m all for saving money on heating, but that’s a bit too cold. Munchkin’s room was even colder… I figured that…
