Our Week at a Glance

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Thoughts

D is TAD this week, so Munchkin and I are on our own again. We’ll be continuing on with Munchkin’s new school schedule. This year she’s working on Algebra I, Biology, Spanish, Ancient History, Composition, and Old Testament Survey. I’m sure we’ll throw in a few other things here and there as her interests lead. This is a more difficult schedule, so we’re taking things completely at her pace. Monday and Tuesday will be slow days with nothing planned other than school. Wednesday, she will have Awana in the evening. Thursday, I’ll be taking her to basketball practice since Daddy…

Munchkin’s 1st Basketball Game

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Munchkin is playing Upward Basketball through our church. Daddy is the assistant coach. Today, they had their first basketball game, and Munchkin was pretty nervous. There are very few girls playing, so that makes her a little uncomfortable. Since she has never played basketball before, she didn’t know what to expect for this first game. They had a smoke machine and a banner for the kids to run through as they were going through the line-up. Pregame huddle as they went through some last minute rule changes that the coach did not know about. Playing defense. When the players first…

Our New Years

Did we stay up to ring in the New Year? Uh, not exactly. D and I were both pretty tired and fell asleep early. lol! Munchkin went to bed roughly at her normal bedtime. Our New Year fun started the next day when we went to the airport to pick up Grandma and Grandpa! Munchkin was so excited that Grandma and Grandpa were coming to visit for a few days. Once we picked them up, we headed over to Chick-fil-a for some lunch. Munchkin was thrilled that she was able to play in the playground inside. When we go there,…

I received this email from a friend and thought I’d share it… 1 Corinthians 13: Christmas Style By Sharon Jaynes If I decorate my house perfectly with lovely plaid bows, strands oftwinkling lights, and shiny glass balls, but do not show love to myfamily – I’m just another decorator. If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals, and arranging a beautifully adorned table atmealtime, but do not show love to my family – I’m just another cook. If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home, and giveall that I have…

This and That

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Can I just say that I’m tired of recovery? I no longer need to take pain meds (um, unless I overdo things…), so that’s a good sign. The bad thing is that I’m still on restriction including a weight restriction. When you’re use to doing pretty much everything yourself, this can get old really fast. Especially when you want to get the house all ready for Christmas and see things that need to get done. I am being good though and just doing little things here and there that I’m allowed to do. Sometimes I do a little too much…
