A Fun New Tool

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

Project 365 – #262 I was blessed with the opportunity to review a Bamboo tablet which arrived today.  We’ve been having fun playing with it tonight.  It’s a fun tool, but it’s also a functional tool that we’ll be able to use for our homeschool. Today, we were just experimenting with some of the different features and programs that came with it.  We played a game, tested out the note taking tools, had fun doing a little drawing, and playing with some of the picture features.  There was a good bit of laughter and “this is so cool” going on…

Creative Writing

Project 365 – #259 Back when Munchkin was in kindergarten, her teacher had them write a little each day.  Sometimes that would mean she would write a short, simple sentence.  Other days, that meant that she’d run out of time trying to write a story to go with her picture.  When Munchkin came home from school at the end of the year, our homeschooling adventure began.  I tried to move away from traditional schooling, but the one thing that I tried to continue was the daily writing.  We didn’t always achieve it, but it slowly became part of Munchkin’s normal…

2011-2012 Homeschool Plans

Project 365 – #255 While Munchkin has been doing high school work in some subjects for a little while now, this year is the first year where she’ll be doing high school level work in all subject, so she’s **gulp** officially in high school.  Yikes!  How did that happen?  She’s excited, but a little leery of the extra work that comes along with doing high school level work in all courses.  It has been fun planning some of the classes for this year because I’m starting to have the opportunity to really tailor her learning to her passions/interests due to having completed…

Foundations: Christian Apologetic Course

Posted in Christian Life, and Homeschooling

Project 365 – #242 I think I’ve mentioned a time or two (or ten) that we had the privilege of listening to Ken Ham at our state homeschool convention in July.  While we were there, we ordered the brand new Foundations curriculum from Answers in Genesis.  The idea was for us to go through this 12-week study as a family, and from there, we would develop it into a Christian Apologetic Course for Munchkin (for high school credit). Last week, the curriculum set arrived.  Foundations is actually set up in an adult, group study format.  The curriculum set comes with…

Hopping Along

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Photography

Project 365 – #241 Isn’t that guy just too cute?  He (or maybe she?) was kind enough to hop out from the little cave to allow me to snap a few pictures before hopping back into the cooler shade that it afforded.  Since the other animals were not so inclined to help out, this critter was the only one that is being featured.  lol! Yesterday, I was once again reminded of how much I use the internet for research and preparation for our homeschool day.  After lunch, I went to get on the internet to try to do some prep…
