I should be cleaning…

Posted in Family, and Homemaking

Yes, right now, I should be cleaning.  In fact, I should have been cleaning all day.  We have company coming next week, and the house in not company ready.  Yet, here I sit… not cleaning. D had off from work today.  When he woke up, he decided that he wanted to go look at dirt bikes for himself and Munchkin.  (Note: I do not plan on riding a dirt bike with them.  I’ve learned to never say never – thus the “I do not plan”…)  Normally, this really isn’t a big deal, but the shop was over 2 hours away…

Menu Plan Monday: Ringing in the New Year

It turns out that both D and Munchkin enjoyed having the menu posted on our board this week.  I decided to do it again this week.  D has off on Thursday and Friday, so I want to make sure that he has hearty lunches these days.  (He usually has leftovers for lunches.)  On work days, D usually has belgium waffles that I have made for him and placed in the freezer. Monday: BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwiches using Gluten Free Homemaker’s Focaccia BreadHomemade potato chips with homemade ranch dressing Tuesday: Spaghetti with meatballsHomemade gluten free bread Wednesday: Homemade gluten free sub…

Gluten Free Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls (from a can) were a regular part of our weekend breakfast menu before we switched to a gluten free diet, and Munchkin has dearly missed those cinnamon rolls. I’ve made a few batches of cinnamon rolls, but they were just okay. Today, as I made these cinnamon rolls, my hopes began to rise as the rolls rose. The smells from the oven filled the air. Soon, it was time to take them out of the oven.   As they cooled a little, I mixed up some cream cheese frosting. Feeling like a kid at Christmas, I spooned the…

Menu Plan Monday: Christmas Week Menu

Posted in Gluten Free, and Homemaking

I learned some time ago that I need to have a menu plan in place for the week of Christmas.  I tend to get all caught up in the fun of baking and crafting which causes me to forget what time it is.  That normally means that around 4:30 I look up and realize that I have no clue what we are doing for supper.  I don’t need that stress, so here is our menu plan for the week… Monday: Turkey Club Sandwiches using Gluten Free Homemaker’s Focaccia Bread Homemade potato chips with homemade ranch dressing Fresh baked gluten free…
