Parmesan Cheese Crisps

Posted in Gluten Free, and Homemaking

I love these naturally gluten free Parmesan cheese chips. They are easy to make and taste great with veggies, served with soup, or even pasta. Parmesan Cheese Chips These are relatively easy to make, but you really need to keep an eye on them during the baking process so they do not burn. For a sharper crisp, used an aged Parmesan cheese. Ingredients: Shredded Parmesan Cheese (not grated!!), freshly shredded is best Pepper, other seasoning (if desired) Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Bloom Ball for Education or Decoration

Posted in Homemaking, and Homeschooling

Bloom Balls are not only a fun paper craft, but they can also be an hands-on educational activity. Whether you want to use these as a inexpensive decoration in your home or use them as a learning tool, both kids and adults will find Bloom Balls to be easy to assemble. To be fair, depending on the complexity of your chosen Bloom Ball, it may take longer as you figure out the assembly process. An Organized Gluten Free Pantry

Posted in Homemaking

I definitely feel blessed to have a nice sized pantry at this house. Normally base-housing pantries (in our experience) leave much to be desired when it comes to pantries, so this was a nice surprise when we moved in a little over 3 years ago. (It’s hard to believe it’s been that long already.) The down side to a large pantry is that it tends to become a catch-all mess if you don’t stay on top of organization. Well, our pantry was in a sorry state when I decided to tackle it this morning. Things were here and there, and…

Gluten Free Veggie Pasta

When you have lots of veggies available, you tend to add veggies to pretty much everything that you’re making. On Monday night, I made a marinara meat sauce that was loaded with veggies and served it over pasta. Since the fridge and freezer were looking pretty empty (except for the veggies), we had pasta again last night. This time, I just made a nice veggie pasta with no marinara sauce. It was a light, yet filling summer dinner. I’m giving rough ingredient measurements below. If you can’t have, don’t have, or don’t like a certain veggie, just replace it with…

Learning to Make Homemade Skin Care Products

Posted in Homemaking, and Homeschooling

Munchkin is having fun with her natural health class. This week, she’s learning about natural skin care products. As she’s looking at products to avoid (and why), she started to get more excited about making her own skin care products with natural ingredients. The first thing on her “to do” list was cleaning out some old lip balm containers as she was going to be making her own lip balm. The funny thing was that cleaning out the lip balm containers was a longer process than actually making the lip balm. She was pretty proud of the end result. She’s…
