Washing Trucks

Posted in Family, and Photography

Project 365 – #122 Munchkin has asked Daddy and I to come up with ways that she can earn some money around the house.  After walking by the rather dirty trucks, Daddy decided that he would pay her to wash them.  Her pay will be based upon the quality of her work and whether she decides to wash both the outside and clean the inside. Munchkin is doing a great job.  Yes, she’s occasionally getting a bit side-tracked, but she is a 12-year-old girl.  **grin**  Daddy was able to hobble downstairs and outside to check out her work which made…

Hills and Valleys

Project 365 – #120 It’s funny how animals do crazy things when they are excited.  Our puppy will chase his tail or run around and do short little barks when he gets really excited.  It’s fun to see him get these little bursts of energy out of no where.  When we were out walking, we saw this dog in a backyard.  He kept jumping up to see us over the backyard wall.  It was way too funny.  I finally was able to snap a picture while he was jumping in the air.  This is one of those pictures that doesn’t…

Embracing Change

Project 365 – #119 Although change is not really fun for me, I have chosen to embrace the changes going on in our lives right now.  I’m enjoying the short little walks that I get to take with D as part of his therapy.  I’m loving being able to see him during the day.  We’re happy to be able to spend this extra time with him. Yes, there is much to do to take care of him, but we have decided to focus on the positive rather than the negative.  D’s back surgery was a bit unique as they went…

Welcome Home Daddy

Project 365 – #118 Today, I got up earlier, so I would be able to prepare a meal for D in the hospital in case he was able to eat solid foods today.  (He started a liquid diet late last night.)  I wanted to get the meal done before we headed over for our morning visit.  While I was preparing his meal, I received a text from him saying they were going to release him from the hospital this afternoon.  I was in shock as he still hadn’t eaten any solid food, but I assumed that they would make sure…

A Gluten Free Hospital Stay

Posted in Family, and Photography

Project 365 – #116 In a few hours, we’ll be heading to the hospital for D’s back surgery.  Ironically, the main concern on my mind right now is making sure D’s hospital stay is gluten free.  (Maybe that’s because it’s something that I can focus my energy on right now?)  Getting glutened or contaminated at the hospital could slow down his recovery as he’ll already be weak from the surgery.  We’re going to keep stressing the gluten free thing as we go along and pray that the Lord will keep him gluten free during his entire stay.  I’ll be doing…
