Lunar Eclipse: December 2011

O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory…

Thankful Thursday: Surgery Recovery Update

Posted in Family, and Photography

D met with the military “board” yesterday.  We are now cautiously optimistic about D’s future in the military.  We were given some hope that due to his rank and job that he’ll be able to continue being a Marine, and he could make it to retirement.  They were pleased to see how well he was doing already.  He has rough days especially when he does too much, but recovery is going well.  We still have a long road ahead, and things could change in an instant. Back to Work He Goes

Today was D’s first day back to work after his surgery.  Thanks to a long Thanksgiving weekend, it was only a half day of work.  He was pretty wiped and hurting by the time he came home, but overall things went pretty well.  We keep thinking back to the previous back surgery and find ourselves so grateful that it all went better this time around.  Last time he went back to work, I was receiving text messages from a concerned Marine saying that he really needed to go back to the doctor prior to coming back to work.  This time,…
