Munchkin wanted to do something special for my birthday. Normally, I make the cake/cupcakes/cheesecake/pie for birthdays either by myself or with a little assistance from Munchkin. This year, she decided that she wanted to do it all by herself. Other than asking a question here or there, she was able to make the gluten free marble cupcakes and homemade peanut butter buttercream frosting completely by herself. They were delicious, and Daddy said that he was quite lucky because he now had two girls in his life that could make him yummy cupcakes. 😉 Needless to say, Munchkin was quite pleased…

This month’s community outreach for the horse rescue was a fall festival where the kids could go trick-or-treating on horseback. It was a unique opportunity that was a big hit for both the regulars at the ranch as well as kids from the community. Another fun activity was a costume contest for both people and their horses. Munchkin decided that she wanted to be Lady Carliss from the Knights of Arrethtrae book series. We had to get a little creative with the costume in order to include her horse Dixie in on the act, so the finished costume didn’t turn…

On Tuesday, I received a text message from Munchkin’s best friend’s mom (who, for now, lives in North Carolina). Back and forth the texting went as we plotted behind our daughter’s backs to get the two of them together if only for a short period of time as they made their way from point A to point B. It was hard not to say anything as I was excited that Munchkin was going to…
On Monday, it was confirmed the some of the rescue horses from the ranch would be used in a music video that was being shot on Tuesday. I was asked to haul the horses since I have the truck that can pull the horse trailer while fully loaded. We knew that Tuesday would be crazy, but I don’t think any of us realized how crazy it would really be. Tuesday morning found Munchkin and I at the ranch earlier than usual – much to Munchkin’s chagrin as a morning person she is not. We still had not heard what time…
Yesterday, on the way over to the ranch, Munchkin and I decided that we would pick up some pumpkins to carve. Since a few of Munchkin’s friends were at the ranch this week, it seemed like the perfect time to carve pumpkins as it’s always more fun to do such activities with friends. These three girls were cracking me up the entire time they were carving. They certainly were having fun with the complete process. **grin** All week the girls have been having a great time doing some fun activities and riding their horses. It’s almost been like an unplanned…
