Since Munchkin isn’t currently in a sports or p.e. program, I decided that I needed to find a fun way for us to exercise together. I settled on Dance, Dance, Revolution (Disney version) for the Playstation 2. We have 2 mats, so we can dance together. Munchkin was frustrated when she tried to do it alone, but we both have a blast when we do it together. And, we get a great workout in the process. Our area was experiencing highly windy conditions today. Unfortunately, this lead to several brush fires in the area — including one right behind us. Thankfully, we have water between us and the land behind us. We won’t really be able to see the full damage until tomorrow. There are no houses in that immediate area. There was also another large brush fire that lead to the closing of a major bridge in the area. We haven’t heard about the extent of the damage from that one. Today, we spent the late afternoon/evening in the company of another Christian, military, homeschooling family. This family is also dealing with deployment issues, so it was nice to be able to sit down and talk to someone who understands what we’re dealing with on a day to day basis. The adults enjoyed some refreshing, non-kiddo conversation while the kiddos had fun just playing together and being kids. It’s been an interesting week to say the least. We had a furnace outage, a major scare with a little boy that we know, sickness, and sleepless nights. Yet, there is much for which to be grateful. I praise the Lord for stepping in and saving our young friends life. Miracles do happen. I was touched by all of the people praying for this little guy and his family. Thank you! It’s pretty bad when you get really excited about fixing something yourself. lol! Today, the house was quite chilly, but I didn’t think much of it as it was cold outside. I just plugged in the portable heater in the room that we were in. Fast forward to bedtime… Munchkin heads to her room and it’s freezing. She complains that the vent is blowing out cold air. Ugh!
