We’re in the midst of preparing for Tropical Storm Hanna. The city has issued alerts that all city functions and buildings will be closed tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how this storm will hit. For now, we’ve taken care of what needs to be done around the house, and we’re settling down for an evening of board games.

The year mark of D being away has come and gone, but still we have a few months to go before he will join us again. This means that we are considered to be in the home stretch. While this brings great relief to finally be approaching that point, it also brings along with it some trials. We hear very little from D these days. We can no longer send him care packages. All I can say about the opening ceremonies last night is WOW! At first, when I brought up watching the opening ceremonies, Munchkin wasn’t at all interested. Then, I turned it on. She couldn’t take her eyes off the screen as beautiful, awe inspiring images passed before her. I allowed her to stay up way too late, but it was so worth it. Unfortunately, Munchkin woke up sick this morning. I’m sure it has something to do with getting up early all week for VBS, being around lots of kids all week, and staying up very late last night. We…
