Trusting in God

Posted in Family, Military Life, and Thoughts

The year mark of D being away has come and gone, but still we have a few months to go before he will join us again. This means that we are considered to be in the home stretch. While this brings great relief to finally be approaching that point, it also brings along with it some trials.

We hear very little from D these days. We can no longer send him care packages. We’re eagerly looking forward to his return home. All this added together makes the days, weeks, months creep by for us.

In this time of waiting and praying, we lean heavily on God for strength and comfort. Thankfully, He’s given us many words of wisdom…

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7

I’m sure you don’t feel this way – but I cannot believe it has been a year already! Wow!

Saying special prayers for patience and safety as these last few months go by! May they go as quickly for you as time seems to go for me. 🙂

You all remain in our prayers – praise Him for this home stretch!
