The Clock is Ticking

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

It’s hard to believe in a few days we’ll be saying goodbye to this place we have called home for 2 years. Most of the time, it was just Munchkin and I, but we have enjoyed this place. We’re not sure why the Lord chose to lead us here for such a short time, but we know that we’ve been blessed by the people we’ve met and the places we’ve gone while here. I’m finishing up with the final things that are here and there in the house. We’re finishing up various items that need to be handled before we…

Strawberry Picking

Posted in Family, and Homemaking

We love that time of year where the strawberries are ready for picking. Yummy!! Since the critters around our house keep eating all of the strawberries that we planted this year, we headed over to the strawberry field. Daddy and Munchkin searching for the best spot to start picking berries. Daddy does not enjoy picking berries, but he decided that he would join us anyway. I like to quickly pick the berries as it can get rather warm out in the sun. I forgot to put on my new hat, so the sun was beating down on me. Munchkin listened…

Yorktown Battlefield

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

Once again, Munchkin participated in the Junior Ranger program. We were a little rushed during our time at the Yorktown Battlefield as they closed too soon after our arrival from Jamestown. We attended a very interesting guided tour as part of the program. Unfortunately, this tour was going to run until after the park closed. We left a little early and asked ranger if she’d be willing to sign off on Munchkin’s work even though she still hadn’t completed all of the activities. She agreed since we planned on completing the activities after the visitor’s center had closed. The Yorktown…

Historic Jamestown

Here are some pictures from our trip to Historic Jamestown. Munchkin really enjoyed working on the Junior Ranger program. I like this program because it helps us focus on the main highlights at the National Parks. We’re trying to figure out a good way to display the patches that Munchkin has earned through this program. Historic Jamestown has some free lesson plans available. It’s Empty…

Posted in Family, Military Life, and Thoughts

The house is empty except for the fridge and pantry. Echoes fill the air as we walk and talk. The walls look empty without the pictures. It’s no longer a home; it is just a house. It’s weird getting ready to leave a house that we still own… We still have a little time before we start our cross country adventure. We continue to pray for our miracle of selling our house quickly. Our travel trailer is now our home. We’ll be working on getting it organized before we head out on the road. It’s going to be interesting living…
